BREAKING: McCarthy Loses Speaker Vote for Fourteenth Time

Representative Kevin McCarthy failed to get enough votes to become Speaker of the House in fourteen votes.

Rep. Matt Gaetz explained that they gave McCarthy several demands in order to earn their votes and he rejected the demands.

The first vote saw Rep. Andy Biggs get 10 votes and the second vote saw Rep Jim Jordan get 19 votes in opposition to McCarthy.

On the second day of voting, Rep. Chip Roy nominated Byron Donalds for Speaker.

The House adjourned until noon on Wednesday following the third vote:

The twelfth vote saw 14 non-McCarthy voters vote for McCarthy and narrowing the gap to 3 to win.
