Mercenary Force to Take on ISIS

In 2014, when there was talk of the US sending ground troops back into Iraq to fix the mess it had clearly started, we wrote about what a disaster that would be: What to do in Iraq?

The idea was that governments shouldn’t be going into war unless there was a clear defensive component to it. With regard to ISIS in Iraq, there wasn’t. But there was  clear humanitarian need—ISIS was killing and raping innocents, destroying villages, and terrorizing the population. Something needs to be done and the US occupation and state-building experiment has left Iraqis incapable of defending themselves.

The genius solution is a private army a la the Swiss Guard or other mercenaries. And it looks like we have some brave souls who are ready for the challenge: Veterans Against ISIS.

From their site, their mission is:

To unite veterans and raise funds for a voluntary humanitarian aid deployment to Iraq & Syria, and to assist locals in security, medical supplies, medical aid, and training.

Now all they need is funding. This is how it’s done people! Let’s make it happen. Donate here.
