Are You Not Entertained? First Republican Presidential Debate

I didn’t watch the debate—just watched people’s responses to it. It’s clear that people got what they wanted—a metaphorical bloodbath or verbal sparring and one-liners. But many were not impressed. All I can say is “Are you not entertained? Is this not why you are here?”

Modern US political debates have devolved into tiresome displays of equivocations and cheesy one-liners. No one wants to hear substantive content, so, guess what, that’s not what you’re going to get. And the politicians that represent you are going to be great at giving one-liners but not producing substantive content.

As far as I can tell, Rand Paul won, but does it really matter?
